Mad Media Endures Thirty Six Consecutive Hours in Baja

The 2013 SCORE Baja 1000 was one of the most gruesome and challenging in recent history. This year, the Pro UTV Class was the third largest group of entries at the race, and they were on a mission to prove their ability to withstand the 883 miles of off-road hell.  There was speculation that the rate of attrition would be as high as 50% and that no UTV would finish the race. Mad Media and UTVUnderground.com chased the Pro UTV field for over thirty-six hours with five film crews, and captured the journey from start to finish of the factory backed Polaris race teams. The teams of Jagged X, Cognito Motorsports, and Coastal Racing battled long and hard from Ensenada, into the dark desert night, and back.  It was an epic adventure of endurance, perseverance, tenacity and grit, and Mad Media captured it all in this sixteen minute clip illustrating the highs and lows of one of the toughest races in the world.  In the end, the Coastal Racing team of Scott Kiger, Mark Holz, and RJ Anderson crossed the finish line first with a time of 27 hours and 16 minutes. They finished an astounding 31st place overall. Right behind them was the team of Jagged X Racing with driver Matt Parks – whose second place finish earned them the 2013 SCORE Pro UTV Class championship. Congratulations to Polaris and their race teams!
