Mad Media Heads to the Woods of Wisconsin

Ricky Johnson Wins AMSOIL Cup

While most Americans were celebrating Labor Day Weekend at a potluck, game of croquet, or a day on the water, the city of Crandon, WI was crowning World Champions in short course off-road racing at Crandon International Raceway.  Fall Crandon is the mecca of short course in the United States.  It’s the race of all races.  Win at Crandon and any other race will feel like a walk in the park.  Crandon is a one of a kind experience, as 50,000 bring their lawn chairs and take over the grassy hills around the track and if two days of racing weren’t enough, a third was added on Friday as a make up for round 5 of the Traxxas TORC Series.  The most exciting dirt grinding, high-flying action was in the AMSOIL Cup on day 3, when the Pro2 and Pro4 drivers were let loose on the track together in a full out clash for the $40,000 purse awaiting at the finish line.  Having attended Crandon the last 7 years, Mad Media felt right at home on the inside of the infamous turn 1.
