La Paz Racing made their way to Parker Arizona for the Blue Water Desert Challenge hosted by The Best In The Desert racing organization. La Paz Racing went into the 2-day event leading the 8100 class in overall championship points for the 2012 BITD season.

Driver of the 8108 La Paz Racing Ford F-250 Tim Casey and co-rider Bill Rante took on the multi loop race with one goal in mind; winning. Unlike other races that take place through out the year in the Best In The Desert racing series, the Blue Water Desert Challenge is an extremely demanding 150 mile two-day event. It’s a sprint race, but in order to finish first you must first finish.

With a championship in arms reach, Casey and Rante put the pedal to the floor in the La Paz Cocktail Mixes Ford F-250. By race mile 6 of the 25-mile course, the team passed the two competitors that had started in front of them and had taken the physical lead. The duo would continue to push until a very rare mechanical failure on the last lap would leave the La Paz Racing F-250 dead in the water. After calling a local tow yard from Parker Arizona, they were able retrieve their vehicle off of the racecourse and make their way back to the pit area in order to make repairs for the second day of racing.

Day two of the two-part race event was quickly upon the La Paz Racing team and Tim Casey and Bill Rante were strapped back into the La Paz Racing F-250 once again. When the green flag dropped, Casey let it all hang out and drove the wheels off the La Paz Ford F-250. Making his way though the course, lap three was there before he knew it. Just like the previous day, lap three would reach out and bite him, except this time, again while leading, they would burry the truck up to it’s axles. Fortunately, for Casey and Rante, two of the BITD course workers would be able to pull the 7,200-pound La Paz Ford F-250 out of the slit and back on course.

La Paz Racing would go on to take a second place finish for the weekend and secure the 2012 Championship. This Championship makes it three in a row for La Paz Racing, capping off their 6-race win streak. La Paz racing has won 13 races in nearly 3 years of racing action. 2013 is looking bright for the La Paz Racing team as they consider all options to move up in class, only time will tell what Casey and crew have up their sleeve.

Tim Casey noted, “My whole crew has just been so awesome all season long, I can’t thank them enough. We have worked so hard to get to this point and none of this would have been possible without our friends, our family and of course our great sponsors, we couldn’t be happier.”

La Paz Racing would like to thank the following companies that help make racing possible:
